Speaker Information
Mel Gosling, Merrycon
Mel Gosling is the founder and Managing Director of Merrycon, is a member of the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) and has been involved in Business Continuity since first developing an IT Disaster Recovery Plan as IT Manager of an insurance group in 1992. He is an active member of the BCI, serving on the Membership Council and is one of the team of practitioners who rewrote the BCI's Good Practice Guidelines in 2010. He has also recently passed the ISEB (Information Systems Examination Board) practitioner certificate in BCM.
Peter Rhodes & Ian Grobler, NetCentrix
Peter is Business Development Manager at NetCentrix Ltd, a Carnforth-based company specialising in innovative business continuity solutions, Cloud services and hosting solutions. As Senior Technical Architect at NetCentrix, Ian has designed Business Continuity solutions for organisations from 10,000 users to companies with only 10 staff. The pair have over 50 years of experience between them in the IT industry.
Dr Daniel Prince, ICT Focus
Dr Daniel Prince is a Teaching Fellow at Lancaster University and has been working in the area of mobile network systems and information security for 6 years. Daniel completed his Undergraduate studies in Computer Systems Engineering in 2000 and went onto complete his PhD in Programmable Ad Hoc Networks in 2004. During his PhD he extensively worked with Mobile IPv6, working to complete an Implementation of Cisco IOS and as part of a team worked to implement the protocol in Windows CE. He now lectures in information security risk management, penetration techniques and digital forensics as part of the MSc in Cyber Security at Lancaster University, for which he is the course director.
